Arkonomy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with when you use the Arkonomy app.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide you with personalised financial insights:

Email address — used to create and identify your account.
Bank transactions — connected via Plaid. We receive read-only access to transaction history, account balances, and institution names. We do not store your bank credentials.
Financial goals and savings targets — entered manually by you within the app.
Investment activity — orders placed through your connected Alpaca brokerage account (amount, symbol, status).

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to power Arkonomy's features:

Generating AI-driven financial insights and spending summaries.
Calculating savings progress and round-up amounts.
Executing investment orders on your behalf via Alpaca.
Personalising recommendations based on your spending patterns.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your personal financial management.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure, hosted on AWS. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security policies ensure that each user can only access their own data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

4. Third-Party Services

Arkonomy integrates with the following third parties to deliver its core functionality:

Plaid

Used to securely connect your bank account and retrieve transaction data. Plaid's own privacy policy governs how it handles your financial institution credentials. plaid.com/legal/privacy-notice

Alpaca Markets

Used to execute fractional investment orders (e.g. buying SPY). Alpaca is a separate, independently licensed broker-dealer. Your brokerage account is held with Alpaca, not Arkonomy. alpaca.markets/disclosures

Anthropic (Claude AI)

Used to generate financial insights from your anonymised spending summaries. We send aggregated financial data (not raw transactions) to Anthropic's API. anthropic.com/privacy

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with any third party beyond those listed above and only to the extent necessary to provide the service.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@arkonomy.com.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
